Thomas Jakobs, President
InvoTek has been Tom’s mission and passion for over 20 years. A licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Arkansas, Tom holds BS and MS degrees in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as a BA in Theology from St. Gregory University. He is a member of the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Association of North America (RESNA), the United States Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (USSAAC), and the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
Diane Jakobs, Vice President of Operations
Diane is a licensed Professional Engineer who holds a BS in Structural Mechanics as well as an MS and a PhD in Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition to her role at InvoTek, Diane is a Principal Engineer at Rheem Manufacturing.
Darren Brewer, Chief Financial Officer
Darren holds a BS in a Business Management from the University of Maryland University College and a Master’s of Accountancy from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Darren is also the founding principal of ValueMetrik, a CFO outsourcing, business coaching, and financial management consulting firm to small and medium size businesses.
John Riggins, Chief Marketing Officer
John holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University and an MBA from the University of New Orleans. He has held marketing and product management leadership positions with Entergy Corporations and Acxiom. He is president of The Riggins Group, a marketing advisory firm focused on helping technology startups launch and grow.
Shawn Adair, Creative Director
Shawn holds an Masters of Fine Art (MFA) from the University of Arkansas and is a recipient of an Arkansas Arts Council Individual Fellowship. He has worked on a wide range of projects for InvoTek including product packaging, concept illustrations, photography, and video production. Shawn is the principal of Seasaw Productions as well.
Carolyn Scott, Client Advocate
Carolyn has a broad background that includes a degree in Gerontology and a degree in Accounting. She has a son with special needs and is a foster parent for another young man with special needs. Tom Jakobs first met Carolyn in 1996 when her husband Lonnie was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. She has great organizational skills and a big heart!
George Fosnaught, Advisor
George advises InvoTek on VA, funding, and product development and testing. He is a 20 year Navy veteran and an expert user of AccuPoint.
Martin Willems, Advisor
Martin advises InvoTek on product development and testing. He is a Professional Engineer with 34 years of engineering experience. He is also an expert user of AccuPoint.
Barret Ewing, Chief Engineer
A designer of assistive devices with InvoTek since 2000, Barret holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas. Barret’s experience includes hardware, software, and mechanical design.
Jerry Russell, Product Manager
Jerry is in charge of manufacturing at InvoTek. He holds an Associate Degree in Aeronautical Technology from Spartan Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK, and he served as director of maintenance for an aircraft maintenance facility before joining InvoTek. He has worked at InvoTek since May 2007.
Erik Jakobs, Designer
Erik has a BA in Physics and is presently completing a second degree in Electrical Engineering. He is a software designer and tests software and hardware products before release. He also provides technical support. Erik has worked at InvoTek on a part-time basis since he was about 10 years old -- he is the son of Tom and Diane.
Scott Porter, Software Architect
Scott has an unusual background. He holds two B.A.s, one in chemistry and one in mathematics, two law degrees, a J.D. and an LL.M, and an M.I.S.M in web commerce. He has taught courses on software development at the college level and has managed large teams of software engineers. He's different and he fits right in at InvoTek!
Forrest, Security Dog
What's a family-oriented business without a Labrador Retriever? Forrest is in charge of security at InvoTek. He faithfully (unless napping) announces the arrival of the UPS truck.
