What is the Be Extraordinary Program?

The Be Extraordinary™ program offers people with disabilities a way to achieve goals through a partnership with InvoTek and some caring partners and friends. In return, participants agree to use their talents and abilities to participate in the disability community. To learn more about the vision behind this partnership, click here. What do you want to do? Go to school? Work? Manage your family’s finances? Take a larger role in your medical care? Volunteer? Write or read a book? Help others? These are just some of the things InvoTek’s clients have accomplished with our help.

The process starts with telling us your story. We’ll want to know things like:

• What can and can’t you do?
• Are you gaining skills, losing them, or stable?
• What goal would you like to achieve?

Then, we’ll call you. During our conversation we’ll brainstorm together about options, the resources we’ll need, and determine if our engineering skills and the Be Extraordinary™ program are a good match to your needs. If it is, we’ll enroll you into the program. We'll begin our collaborative approach to solving challenges right away. Once we agree on a general plan, we’ll ask you to sign a letter of agreement and help us create a video about you.  The letter of agreement spells out what each of us agrees to do. The goal of the video is to give people a sense of who you are – the real you! We have several examples on our video stories page. Our approach through all of this is to work together to overcome obstacles. This is the key to success.

While the video team puts together your story, our engineers will design a specific plan to meet your goal.  After you review the plan and approve the video, we’ll add your story to the website and begin the process of finding partners.
