Accountability Statement »

InvoTek takes its responsibility to be a good steward very seriously. We are working closely with the Arkansas Spinal Cord Commission (ASCC). The ASCC usually recommends clients to the Be Extraordinary program and InvoTek screens these clients to find good matches between InvoTek's engineering abilities, the goals of the client, and the goals of the Be Extraordinary program. InvoTek creates a clear and justifiable plan for meeting a client's needs. Each client and/or their family is expected to participate fully in the program, ensuring that the equipment that we provide is used in a manner consistent with the plan created during fund raising. Families are also expected to "give forward" by helping the Be Extraordinary program reach others that need it. These expectations are customized to match the client's and family's abilities. Because of this expectation, the Be Extraordinary program is not "free money." We are offering people who have few options the opportunity to obtain equipment and support to help them meet their life goals, and in response to this opportunity, our clients will help others with disabilities. While we are pleased to be associated with the National Christian Foundation (NCF) for accepting tax-deductible donations, we do not consider religious background when selecting clients. The NCF does not charge a fee for their services, so 100% of your donation goes to Be Extraordinary. Also, NCF does not solicit donors, so you will not be added to any mailing lists.

As a second safeguard, all funds will be disbursed through the ASCC or another non-profit organization. This provides a level of accountability for InvoTek. ASCC case managers are encouraged to be involved in the project and visit their clients to provide an informal, but real, check on how well the solutions created by InvoTek are working. If the value of the project is disappointing, the case managers will report this to the ASCC executive director, who will inform InvoTek. The ASCC director sits on the Be Extraordinary advisory board. Arkansas is a small state and InvoTek is a member of the Better Business Bureau. It would be foolish of InvoTek not to make every effort to rectify any problems if we expect to work with the ASCC in the future -- and we do!

Lastly, InvoTek has worked in the disability field since 1988. We are trying to establish a funding mechanism to meet the needs of people who have few options. This is our mission and we are grateful for the opportunity that your donation provides to us and our clients. If you have questions, please contact Tom Jakobs at (479) 632-4166, or send us an email here. We will respond promptly.

Thank you for considering the Be Extraordinary program.
