[Updated 10/11/2011] Craig Suneson is a 48-year-old Navy veteran who sustained a C3-4 spinal cord injury in a motor vehicle accident 18 years ago. Since that time, he resides in an extended care facility in North Little Rock, AR.
Craig comes from a large family. In addition to his mother, he has nine sisters and brothers (who live all over the country), 33 nieces and nephews, as well as 13 great-nieces and nephews. Since he is unable to see his family as often as he would like, he wanted to communicate with them via Facebook and email. This will enable Craig to feel less isolated and be more involved with his family's lives.
Craig now has computer access through AccuPoint and our AT Passport program! Barret (our Chief Engineer) installed a new accessible desk, laptop computer with a printer/copier/scanner, speech recognition software (Dragon), and a secondary monitor. Then Barret taught Craig how to use speech recognition, email, Facebook, and the Internet. It was a long day! We'll be back to visit Craig in the next few weeks and provide follow-up training.
We'll have more updates as time goes on. Thanks to everyone who donated and made this possible!
