Billy Arnold »

Billy is 28 years old. He has a cute three-year old daughter and a dedicated family. He needs them all.

Billy had a brain-stem stroke just before Christmas of 2010. The stroke left him with very little movement and he cannot speak. He can move his eyes up and down, but he has a condition known as ocular bobbing so eye tracking technology is ineffective. After several months of therapy with a great speech pathologist and lots of practice, Billy can now move his jaw purposefully. This is all the movement we can find at this point. Billy is still a smart guy (he was a bank branch manager before his stroke).

Billy attempting to use a switchAfter three months of trying lots of things (see the video on the right to get a sense of what we have been through!), we designed new software for Billy and he is typing on his own using the AccuPoint tracking system. It is very slow -- but it is a start! We have funding for the engineering work that needs to be done, but we need help funding equipment. We have the technical team and caregivers to be successful, but we need you. We really do. Every little bit helps! Money needed for equipment: $1,500. Thanks to everyone who has been so generous. While you are helping Billy, you are also encouraging us at InvoTek. Together, we're doing something important.

Money raised so far for Billy: $1,500 -- Thank you!!!
