BlueSwitch accepts up to three input-switches (3.5mm mono plug) and converts them into Bluetooth switches for accessing iOS, Apple OS X, Windows, Google Chrome, and Android devices. Additionally BlueSwitch lets you use these same input switches to connect to up to three Bluetooth devices! Now you can use a single switch to control your iPad, smartphone, and computer -- and seamlessly switch among them. BlueSwitch supports Bluetooth auto-reconnect when powering up. BlueSwitch is 3" x 3" x 1" thick and weighs 4 ounces.

BlueSwitch is highly configurable, making it possible to optimize BlueSwitch for the abilities and limitations of the person using it. DIP switches on BlueSwitch's side panel provide the standard options most people will need. These options include selecting the keys that will be sent via Bluetooth ('space' and 'enter', or '1' and '3'), and choosing whether user input-switches 1 and 2 cause Bluetooth data to be sent upon switch press or release. In custom mode many more options are available.

Options are configured using BlueSwitch's Android app. The BlueSwitch app is available in the Google Play store. There is no cost for this app.

BlueSwitch converts simple input switches into sophisticated Bluetooth output switches. BlueSwitch also supports simultaneous Bluetooth connections to three devices with auto-reconnect on power-up. Four DIP switches on the right side of BlueSwitch enable to user to select among three standard operating modes and one custom mode. The on/off functions of each switch are defined below:

  1. When DIP switch 1 is 'off', BlueSwitch is in standard operating mode, which enables the options controlled by the next three DIP switches. When DIP switch 1 is 'on' BlueSwitch is in custom mode, which disables the functionality of switches 2, 3, and 4.
  2. When DIP switch 2 is 'off', BlueSwitch sends the numbers '1' and '3' via Bluetooth. When DIP switch 2 is 'on', BlueSwitch sends 'space' and 'enter' via Bluetooth.
  3. When DIP switch 3 is 'off', Bluetooth data is sent when user switch 1 is pressed. When DIP switch 3 is 'on', Bluetooth data is sent when user switch 1 is released.
  4. When DIP switch 4 is 'off', Bluetooth data sent when user switch 2 is pressed. When DIP switch 3 is 'on', Bluetooth data is sent when user switch 2 is released.

The DIP switches on BlueSwitch's side panel provide the standard options most people need. In all modes, user-switch 3 selects which paired Bluetooth device is controlled by BlueSwitch. Activating user-switch 3 for more than 3 seconds causes BlueSwitch to auto-reconnect to paired Bluetooth devices (this time is adjustable in custom mode). Releasing user-switch 3 before this time selects the next Bluetooth device to be controlled. All of this is complicated to write, but pretty easy to use. Call us if you would like help figuring this out. :-)

In custom mode the functions of user-switches 1 and 2 are highly configurable. BlueSwitch's custom mode comes preprogrammed to enable user-switch 1 to send the Bluetooth keys 'space' on a short switch closure (less than 1.5 seconds), 'enter' on a long switch closure (1.5 - 3.0 seconds), and to start scanning paired devices on a switch closure that is held for more than 3 seconds. This enables single-switch users to control up to three Bluetooth devices with a single input-switch.

Customizing BlueSwitch is accomplished using our free Android app. The BlueSwitch app enables the following parameters for user-switches to be set:

  • Tell BlueSwitch to differentiate between short and long user-switch presses for input switches 1, 2, and/or 3.
  • Tell BlueSwitch the press duration for a long switch press for input switches 1, 2, and/or 3.
  • Tell BlueSwitch to send Bluetooth commands on switch press or release for input switches 1 and/or 2.
  • Tell BlueSwitch to wait for an acceptance time before sending a Bluetooth command for switches 1, 2, and/or 3. If the acceptance time is not met, nothing is sent. This is helpful for people who tend to accidentally activate their switch multiple times when pressing or releasing.
  • Tell BlueSwitch the time that user-switch 1 must be activated in order to enter the Bluetooth device selection mode.

The above settings should make it possible for nearly any switch-user to control multiple Bluetooth devices. If you would like help configuring your BlueSwitch or have questions, just call us. We are more than happy to help!

The BlueSwitch app is available in the Google Play store. There is no cost for this app.

BlueSwitch enables a person who uses a switch (or two or three switches!) to control up to three smart devices. For example, a person controlling a single-switch can control their Android smartphone, check Facebook on their iPad, and complete their homework on their Windows computer. One switch can control three devices!

Of course, some people do better with two switches. BlueSwitch also lets you use two switches for controlling your smart devices -- and to switch between them. Finally, if you can manage three switches, you can use all three for controlling your devices.

BlueSwitch gives switch users access to the same technology that everyone else enjoys!
